A San Francisco Christmas

One of my best customers lives all the way across the country from me in San Francisco.  Every year, Lisa, orders matching Christmas pajamas for her son and daughter.

Last year another customer found these Boyd’s Bear fabrics and ordered matchings pjs for her family of 5.

Lisa loved this fabric so much she bought it and sent it to me to use for this year’s nighties for her children.

Daniel’s pjs have long sleeves, no collar, and button up the front.  The pants have an elastic waist and elastic around the ankle.  Lisa likes the elastic around the ankle because it allows me to make the pants longer, so he can wear them as he grows, and he won’t trip over them.

Amanda is getting to be a young lady, so this year she gets a nightgown instead of pjs.  The pattern I used calls for the gown to button in the back but Amanda has long hair so Lisa does not like anything with buttons in the back because her hair gets caught in the buttons.  So I moved the buttons to the front.

I love this pattern, it is so girly without being too frilly.  Most patterns for nightwear do not line the yoke but I always do this to make the items more durable.  Custom pajamas are not cheap and I want my customers to get lots of wear out of them.

As an added surprise I included a matching sweater for Missy, the family pooch.  Missy is a tiny puppy who just knows she should be treated just like the other kids!

Missy’s sweater is reversible, one side flannel and the other fleece with a strap across her tummy that closes with velcro to make it adjustable.

These pjs are off to California and when Lisa sends me photos of the children and Missy, modeling them I will post them.
