A Real Adventure

We live in south Mississippi and we just don’t have a lot of big, fancy stores so when we get a chance to visit a unique store we make the most of it.  This weekend is the first free time we have had in several weeks, thanks to all the recent hurricanes, so we decided to take a day trip to a brand new Bass Pro Shop in south Alabama.

Driving up to this store made us feel like country folk coming to town-it is huge!!  I guess a lot of people had the same idea as we did because it was very crowded, but we found a parking spot and headed to the store.

This little pond is in the front of the store and is so inviting.

Once inside the store is a cacophony of sights and sounds. People and noise all around, but right inside the front door is this relaxing fireplace.

As we made our way around the store we found many of these little guys from a taxidermist’s workshop.

This is the entrance to the General Store where you can find all sorts of candy and homemade goodies.

The elevator doors are all decorated with paintings similar to this.

Near the camping center we found this aquarium with waterfalls. This display took up a large portion of the back wall.

There are so many departments in the Bass Store that everyone is sure to find something they like.
From fishing, to boating, to camping, hunting and apparel, truly a whole shopping experience in one store.

There is even a restaurant for the foot sore, weary shoppers who need a break. And yes, that is an aquarium across the back wall.

We had such a nice day and even found a few items we just could not live without. So a day spent at the Bass Pro Shop is an adventure we really enjoyed.
