And the Rush is on

September and October are always very busy for me.  It seems like I just can’t have enough Pioneer Girl outfits ready.  I have worked all year to build up a supply of these outfits and as of now I am down to six completed outfits.  Now that is good because it means the others have sold but when last minute customers need an outfit I will be working round the clock.

So this week I decided. . .I would make myself rush and make five outfits.  I decided to make them in the most popular size, girls’ 8-10.  Since all five will be the same size I can work on them all at the same time.

Once all the outfits are cut out I can work in assembly line fashion.  The first thing I did was to put the yokes together. This takes the most time so I do it first.

Then I put gathers in everything that needs them; sleeves, dress front and back, and bonnets.

All that remained was putting the rest of the pieces together and voila! Five Pioneer Girl dresses.

Next came the bonnets and pinafores.  A day to get them together and then everything gets laundered.  Now I have 5 brand new prairie outfits available to list for sale.

And I already have a bid on one of them!! Time to start on my next batch.
