Blueberry Scones

A week ago our church ladies had a meeting at a friend’s home.  This friend’s daughter treated the ladies to some homemade Blueberry Scones.   Everyone was raving about the scones so she shared the recipe with us.

Blueberry Scones

2 cups wheat flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 TBS baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter, chilled
1 cup fresh blueberries
3/4 cup half & half
1 egg
[serves 12]
1.  Cut butter into mixture of flour, sugar, baking powder, & salt.  Add blueberries & toss to mix.

2.  In separate bowl, beat together cream and egg.

Slowly pour it into dry ingredients, stirring with rubber scraper until dough forms.

Knead just until it comes together~3 or 4 times.  Don’t overhandle!
3.  Divide dough in half.  On lightly floured board, shape each half into a 6-inch round.  Cut into 6 wedges.
4.  Bake on ungreased sheet about 20 minutes @ 375 degrees F.

These were so good I just had to share the recipe.
