Well, it is that time of year again. The time when we begin our South Carolina Marathon. We have coined that phrase because of the multiple trips we will be making in the next few months.
For the last 6-7 years we have gone to a couple’s conference with our son and daughter-in-law at the Wild’s Christian Camp during the month of September. We decided to skip the conference this year. One main reason is that we don’t normally get to spend much time with our grandchildren during this visit. So this week we will be heading to South Carolina to spend almost a week with our little (and not so little ) darlings.
In November both …of our granddaughters have a birthday and we will be heading back for the party. The last few years they have scheduled the party over the Thanksgiving holiday so we get to spend a few extra days with them.
Then in December we head back for Christmas. I am not sure how this happened, in the past they came to our home for Christmas, but somehow we started going up there instead! Maybe because our son’s birthday is in December. Regardless of the reason we will be heading back sometime in December to celebrate Christmas.
Then in January/February both of our grandsons have a birthday and, of course, we go for that party. This is the last of our marathon trips. We do try to visit sometime between February and July but that trip is always flexible. In July they come down here so we can purchase school books for next year. And then next September the marathon will begin again!
So we are on our way to a week of spoiling our grandchildren and then we will head home and let mom and dad straighten them back out!
