Post-Concussion Syndrome

April 30, 2008

After yesterday’s dramatic post I thought I would write something about this little understood syndrome.  When we left the hospital, after the accident, no one told us about this and we were totally unprepared for the way it manifested itself.  You can read more about post-concussion syndrome here.

In our situation, Caleb experienced headaches but considering the size of the lump on his head that was not surprising.  Not a great picture, but he was in no mood for modeling.

Spring Is In Bloom

April 28, 2008

Last year one of my customers, Lisa, saw an outfit made by another designer using floral and stripe coordinating fabrics.  She really liked the combination of florals and stripes so she went shopping for something similar.  She found this combo.

Grocery Shopping

April 26, 2008

I normally go grocery shopping once a week so I will always have fresh produce on hand.  Last week I was busy with sewing orders so I decided not to go out.  My plan was to go out Monday and restock the shelves and our food supply.

If you have been reading you know that our car problems started over last weekend and I dared not drive the car for errands.  Tuesday our car ended up in the shop.  Thursday we went to pick the car up only to have another problem develop and we had to put it right back in the shop.

Agoraphobia

April 25, 2008

Agoraphobia is the fear of going out in public places.  Mild forms of this condition can cause one to avoid certain situations they find stressful.  I am quickly developing this condition.

A Love Hate Relationship

April 24, 2008

A few years ago the business where my husband worked went bankrupt and he was unemployed for about a year.  During that year our car died and we had to buy a new one.  My brother works for Ford and he can get us a good deal so we headed to his dealership to see what was available.

We finally settled on a Ford Escape-a small suv.  It is big enough for hauling small loads yet still economical to operate.  This car has been a very good investment for us.  It has over 150,000 miles and has rarely given us problems.

Jill in Pearland Texas, contacted me about an outfit for her daughter’s May birthday.  Her daughter loves ‘Little House on the Prairie’ and more specifically Laura Ingalls.  This mom wanted to get her one of my pioneer outfits so she could dress up just like ‘Laura’. . .
